Short break in Shanghai

I had a few days off before the new term so I got the chance to shoot up to Shanghai for a couple of days to get some time in the biggest Chinese city before getting back to work, and had a lovely time.
I went to the old market district which was PACKED with people, so so many, but also pretty beautiful with the lanterns above the crowds. The famous tea house in Shanghai gardens was also decked out for the festival still and still crammed with people.
As the night came in the lights came on and it was very pretty, I decided I wanted to take a boat trip, I found some for 200rmb, £20, but thought that was a bit steap, in the end I found a ferry across the river for 1rmb, I took this ferry over and got a lovely view from the boat of all the lights which was lovely!
I stayed in the hotel that was built for the expo in Shanghai, it was quite nice but completely empty! and a bit cold as the aircon was hardly working...
