England Town

A place I had wanted to go for a while now was 'Thames Town', I had read online about a complete copy of an English town outside Shanghai and so on my last day in Shanghai I headed out to check it out.
According to the internet I had to get the metro for an hour out of the centre then a taxi for 2km to the entrance, and as easy as that, I found it.
I was dropped off at an access road with some suspiciously English signs, and some pretty accurately coppied English houses, as I walked further into the centre it just got weirder, a whole English style shopping arcade, empty, and most of the surrounding houses had no signs of life either, I then found a recreation of an English villiage shopping street, reminding me a lot of Warwick, and then an English pub or two, (closed), and many restaurants (mostly closed) and finally a huge church! (closed but outside many people taking wedding pictures) and then a reproduction of brimingham! the canals and the bridges over and industrial style wharfs couldn't be anywhere else!
Finally I found a building that was destined to be a french diner but was completely empty inside bar the concrete stairs, it was cool to look around the frames of the building including where the elevator would have gone, and the workers shaving kit and soup mug, left in the corner from when work finished, I even found the 'new' sign, sat inside waiting to be put up!

I took lots of pictures of this crazy place, worth a visit just for novelty value!
